This month, we are shining the spotlight where it truly belongs — on our residents. Over the past year, they have faced emotional challenges with the loss of close peers, and those moments have reminded us just how family-oriented our community is. When our residents grieve, we step forward as staff to ensure they feel supported, cared for, and never alone.
Even in difficult times, our mission remains clear: to create opportunities for growth, independence, and purpose. It has been inspiring to watch residents step outside of their comfort zones, embrace new experiences, and celebrate their own progress. From navigating public transportation—whether by bus, trolley, or the TOPS program — to exploring our community in small groups, they are taking confident steps toward greater independence.
We are proud of the hands-on support our team provides each day, both in residents’ homes and in the community. That support is helping residents discover passions and dreams they once thought were out of reach. Whether it’s music, content creation, work placement or other personal goals, we are standing behind them and encouraging each one to pursue what makes life meaningful. Our residents deserve not only a safe and supportive environment, but also a life filled with purpose, joy, and opportunity. Together, we continue to make that vision a reality — one dream at a time.
This year has also marked a season of growth for FIL. We have proudly welcomed seven new residents into our program, each bringing their own unique personality and story into our family. Since launching our Marketing Department, we have seen a remarkable increase in visibility and interest – families are discovering who we are, and the response has been overwhelming. Every time a new family walks through our doors, their appreciation for what makes FIL unique reminds us that we are moving in the right direction.
We are taking FIL to new heights, giving it our all to ensure our residents live fulfilling lives – lives of quality, purpose and joy, without limitations. Together, we continue to stand behind our mission, and together, we celebrate the growth and success of our remarkable community.
