FIL Enrichment Activities Are Plentiful & Varied

Big things keep happening with FIL’s Enrichment Program! February’s activities calendar is packed full of fun, informative and invigorating events.

We kicked off the month with Residents immersing themselves in Chinese culture and traditions by celebrating the year of the Tiger for the Chinese New Year. The month has included a variety of fun and surprising quizzes, activities and even an authentic Chinese dinner from our Healthy Café, complete with chopsticks.

Residents also participated in mindful nature walks in the gorgeous Florida winter weather, including a guided tour of Snyder Park, where they learned about Florida’s ecology system and how it impacts our community.

Residents enjoyed the city of Margate’s “Sounds at Sunset” concert series and were jamming, dancing and singing the night away.

Coconut Creek hosted their annual Vintage Car Show at the Community Center. The residents get to interact and be a part of the broader community.

Super Bowl Festivities were a major event with residents hosting their own SBLVI Bubble Parties with their peers, all while ensuring healthy habits following CDC guidelines.

Residents are excited for the upcoming Renaissance Festival in Deerfield Beach as well as Coconut Creek’s Annual Butterfly Festival with a full day of fun, parades, music and food.

And to top off the month, FIL welcomed back Nick Manning to our fitness program.

Nick was the resident’s personal trainer at LA Fitness prior to 2020 and is now working with the Emperors at FIL’s state-of-the-art Fitness Center.

The moment he stepped into the Fitness Center, the residents lit up like the Fourth of July.

Nick’s heart and compassion for our community is truly amazing. FIL is looking forward to seeing what results Nick can get working with our residents.
